In September, we worked on animations for climbing ladders and vines. The iteration covered both male and female characters, with the aim of making the same action convincing across the different character types.

Climbing is particularly sensitive to the relationship between movement and the environment. Hands, feet, and the body need to read naturally in relation to the support. We approach this work together with the object being climbed rather than treating the animation in isolation.

In Homefall, this is part of moving through the world. We want movement to support the atmosphere of exploration instead of interrupting it with noticeable mismatches between a character and the surrounding space.

This adjustment stage is complete. We are not revealing new routes or the layout of specific locations here; this update is about the movements that help characters feel present in the game's environment.
