At the beginning of September, we completed work on the animation of a wolf appearing in a scene. It is a small but distinct stage: placing a creature in the environment is not enough; its entrance should also feel like part of the moment.

In Homefall, nature exists alongside the remains of the old civilisation. Animals belong to that visual world together with people and autonomous machines. When developing their movements, we want them to feel present in the surroundings rather than like unrelated elements placed over a backdrop.

This stage concerns animation presentation, not new behaviour or combat rules. We are keeping the circumstances of the encounter out of the update so that players can discover them in the game. The focus here is on how the animal enters the scene.

Homefall's animation work continues through small iterations. An individual movement supports the same goal as a larger scene: making the transformed Earth feel like a convincing place to explore.
